Drexel
Drexel was named after Anthony Joseph Drexel, a
Philadelphia financier and philanthropist who served on the board of
directors of the Norfolk Southern Railroad which ran through the middle
of this small community. The community prospered from several knitting
mills and furniture manufacturers. The town currently has a population
