The Burke County Chamber of Commerce
The Burke County Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for business
interests, promotes economic growth, provides leadership in community
affairs, helps to enhance the quality of life for the people of Burke
County, and provides services and programs for its members.
The Chamber acts as a spokesperson for the business and professional
community and translates into action the group thinking of its members.
The Chamber also provides specific services that can be beneficial to
its members and the public as a whole.
Most of all, the Chamber is a partnership of over 500 businesses and
organizations that work together to build a stronger community. The
organization provides a common ground where business leaders can come
together and work toward building a stronger community.

Position available:
The Burke County Chamber of Commerce in Morganton, North Carolina, is
seeking a dynamic people oriented President/CEO to manage the daily
business of the Chamber. The successful candidate will establish and
maintain effective working relationships with the board of directors,
membership, public and private agencies and the general public. Requires
public speaking and written communications skills, event planning and
reporting skills; excellent organizational capabilities, including defining
and managing multiple priorities simultaneously with a high level of
energy. The President reports to the Board of Directors and works closely
with the seven member Executive Committee. A Bachelor's degree with
a minimum of three years working in a leadership position in a chamber
of commerce is required. Graduate or currently attending the Chamber
Institute program is a plus . Competitive compensation and benefit package.
